Randall Warren Neal was taken Home, far too soon, at the age of 60 on Sunday, July 16, 2017. There are not enough words to fully describe Randall, who added color to a world that will be less bright without him in it. Randall was a man who loved deeply and was passionate about the people he held closest to his heart. Among those was his high school sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Cheryl Wagner Neal, and their children, Josh Neal and wife Stella and Jacob Neal and wife Erin. For Randall, true joy collided with his life upon the birth of each of his grandsons, Beau, Ben, Torrey and Briggs. He was waiting, on pins and needles, for the arrival of his granddaughter, Lorelai Joy. Randall was born a country boy and lived in Livingston Parish his entire life, including the last 26 years in Denham Springs. He was a deacon and active member of Northside Baptist Church. Randall was a retiree of the Louisiana Department of Corrections at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. Also grieving his loss are his mother, Mary Evelyn Neal, his brothers and sisters, Reggie and Margie Neal, Risha Neal, Ritchie and Lisa Neal, Ronda Neal, Carol Wagner Burge, and Danny and Tammie Wagner DeMarchis. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Those who preceded him in death are his father, Warren Earl Neal; maternal grandparents, Ventis and Margaret Mitchell; paternal grandparents, Henry and Delia Neal; his father and mother-in-law, Leslie and Rose Wagner; brothers-in-law, Billy Burge and Leslie “Bucky” Wagner and nephew, T.J. Jenkins. Visitation will be held at Northside Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 19 from 6-9 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday at 9 a.m., with Rev. Merelin McCon, Rev. James Carson, and Rev. Alton Foster conducting funeral services at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Neal Family Cemetery in Holden. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving in Randall’s name to the Northside Baptist Church Flood Relief Restoration Fund, 200 Cockerham Road, Denham Springs, LA.
