A four-mile section of Interstate 12 in Livingston Parish faces lane closures this week.

LIVINGSTON – A four-mile section of Interstate 12 — both eastbound and westbound lanes – faces closures Monday through Friday, March 12-16, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development.

The section is from three miles west of the La. 63 interchange at Livingston to one mile east of the La. 441 interchange at Holden, said Kris Wascom, engineer with the District 62 DOTD office in Hammond.

The alternating lane closures will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly to allow crews to seal bridge deck joints and to move temporary barriers, Wascom said.

One lane will remain open at all times, he said.

Motorists may take U.S. 190 as an alternate route to avoid nightly lane closures during construction.
