DENHAM SPRINGS – There has been a change in the route of the 2018 First Guaranty Bank Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 8.
The parade cannot use the parking lot at Denham Springs High School as an assembly site since the school is being used as a polling station for the general election.
Vehicles, floats and marchers will assemble at Healing Place Church, 569 Florida Ave. SW.
Floats and vehicles must enter from Government Street. Florida Boulevard will be blocked off.
Lining up begins at 9 a.m. The parade rolls at 2 p.m. from Healing Place Church.
The parade will travel east on Florida Boulevard, turn right and go south on South Range Avenue and end at the corner of South Range Avenue and Veterans Boulevard.
This year’s theme is “Christmas on the Bayou.”
The entry form is available on the Kiwanis Club’s Facebook social media page “Denham Springs Kiwanis Club.”
Entry forms for the parade also are available on the page. Deadline to submit the form is Monday, Dec. 3. The fee is $100.
A late fee of $25 will be charged after Dec. 3.
