Dozens of performers took audiences back in time when they performed “Where Were You in ’42,” a dinner theater production, at Live Oak High July 13-16.

The production, written and directed by Dinah Toups, served as a fundraiser for Livingston Parish Children’s Choirs, including future international tours.

Starting with pre-show music by the King Creole Orchestra, the production was broken into three acts.

Act One was “The Dinner Hour,” in which the Harmony Homemakers hosted an evening of dinner, dancing, and entertainment for local military personnel in the small town of Harmony.

In Act Two, the King Creole Orchestra and performers arrived at an army camp overseas and spend the next few days preparing for their upcoming USO show while adjusting to life on the front.

The final act featured the team’s actual performances for the soldiers.
