Summer is nearly here and that means a slew of summer sports camps around the area will be available to Livingston Parish youth.
The News is looking for any information on camps to provide readers with as much information as possible, and also to give our talented photographers a chance to shoot your kids in action.

Walker Basketball Camp
Dates: May 30-June 2
Times: 9 a.m.-noon
Ages/Grades: 1st-8th
Location: Glenn Ellis Gymnasium at Walker High School
Fee for the camp is $70 is registered by May 23 and $85 at the door on May 30. Each additional child is $40. Send your camp fee to Walker High School, c/o Anthony Schiro | 12646 Burgess Ave. | Walker, La. | 70785.
The fee covers a camp T-shirt as well as individual and group instruction from Walker coaches Anthony Schiro, Korey Arnold, Shannon Lowe, as well as current and former Wildcat and Lady Cat players.

Live Oak Boys & Girls Basketball Camp
Dates: June 5-8

Garrett Temple Father & Son Basketball Camp
Dates: June 9-10
Times: 7-9 p.m. June 9 for all agr groups; 8 a.m.-1 p.m. June 10 for players entering grades 3-5; 2-8 p.m. on June 10 for players entering grades 6-8
Ages/Grades: 3rd-5th and 6th-8th
Location: Spors Academy Recreation Center -- 1002 Laurel Street | Baton Rouge, La.
Former LSU standout and current NBA guard Garrett Temple will host a two-day camp for fathers (guardians or male father figures are welcome) and sons in Baton Rouge with the focus on basketball skills, drills, games, father & son competitions and motivational speeches from top community leaders. McDonald’s will provide meals for each session.

Bulldog Basketball Camp
Dates: June 5-8
Times: 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. each day
Ages/Grades: Ages 6-14
Location: Springfield High Gym.
Director Antonio Broadway's camp will teach fundamentals of offense and defense and man-to-man defensive principles. Springfield coach Mark Erdey and current Bulldog players will serve as camp coaches along with Broadway. Daily contests will be held for prizes, and concessions will be sold.

Denham Springs High Basketball Camp
Dates: June 12-15

Ages/Grades: Boys 1st-8th (2017-18 school year)
Location: Hornsby Gym at DSHS
The camp fee is $80, $40 for each additional family member, and covers instruction in offensive and defensive fundamentals and the basic tools to become a better player. Yellow Jackets’ coach Kevin Caballero and his staff will be the instructors.
Pre-registration can be completed through June 8 by mailing the camper’s name, address, grade, parent’guardan’s name and contact information (phone numbers), T-shirt size and the $80 fee. Location: Albany High School
The camp fee is $60, which covers instruction geared at teaching and developing skills to help campers become the best players they can be. Albany girls coach Stacy Darouse and her staff are the camp coaches.

North Corbin Junior High Basketball Camp

Location: North Corbin Junior High School | Walker
The camp consists of skill development drills, including dribbling, shooting, passing, defense and rebounding and will be run by coaches Rudy Smith and Rebekah Digirolamo O’Neal. The cost is $60 per camper if mailed by June 5 or $75 at the door on the first day. Each additional child costs $30. Checks can be made out to Rebekah O’Neal or cash.

Gearing Up Football Camp
Dates: June 19-23
Times: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Ages/Grades: 6-13
Location: Walker High School
The $125 camp fee ($125 after June 13) covers instruction from the Walker coaching staff as well as Matt Forte and other former professional athletes.
Athltes should wear shorts and sneakers or cleats. Concessions will be available throughout the day.
