FRENCH SETTLEMENT -- Springfield's Keith McKigney and Kendall Stanga combined on a three-hitter to lead the Bulldogs to a 4-2 win over French Settlement in District 9-2A action on Tuesday.

The Springfield duo bested French Settlement's Remington Watts, who gave up six hits, four runs (two earned), five walks and struck out three in a complete-game loss.

The Bulldogs scored single runs in the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th innings to go ahead 4-0 before the Lions picked up two in the bottom of the 5th.

McKigney gave up one hit, two runs, five walks and struck out one in 4.1 innings to get the win. Stanga worked 2.2 innings in relief, giving up two hits, two walks and striking out one.

Colin Forbes, Micah Champagne and Brant Smiley got hits for the Lions, with Smiley and Bryant Johnson scoring runs.

McKigney went 2-for-4, Travis Freeman was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs, Matt Kreutzer went 2-for-2 with a run scored and Zack Wild was 1-for-3 for Springfield.
