SPRINGFIELD -- Albany scored in all but two innings to pick up a 9-6 win over Springfield at Springfield Middle School on Saturday.
Albany led 4-3 after four innings and added two in the 5th and two in the 6th to go up 8-3 before the Bulldogs picked up three in the bottom of the 6th on singles by Matt Kreutzer, Micah Crittenden and Britt Harris.
Albany added a run in the top of the 7th to cap the scoring.
Reid Rayborn picked up the win for the Hornets, giving up 13 hits, two walks and five earned runs while striking out three in six innings. Micah Cleveland gave up one hit with no strikeouts and no walks in the 7th to pick up the save.
Crittenden picked up the loss, giving up four hits, four runs -- three earned -- and four walks with two strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Travis Freeman gave up three hits, three runs -- two earned -- with three strikeouts and one walk in 2.2 innings, and Kendall Stanga gave up two runs -- one earned -- while walking two in 2/3 of an inning.
Brock Legoria went 2-for-5, Brett Davis was 2-for-4, Tyler Allbritton was 3-for-3 and Rayborn was 2-for-4 for Albany.
Keith McKigney went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, Ty Moran was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Crittenden was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Kreutzer was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored to lead Springfield.
