We have had a tough school year, but the administration at Live Oak High, and North Live Oak have been wonderful. Thank you, Ms. Stone, and Ms. Rhonda, we are going to miss you next year.

I hope all of the teachers have a restful summer. Hopefully some of you will come back this fall with a better attitude. You have a important job, and things you say, and the way that you treat our children have an impact on their success. They do come home and tell us how some, not all act one way in front of the parents and then behind closed doors behave differently. I do realize that not all of our little angels are perfect, some are difficult and challenging. My point is be careful what you say to a child, and how you treat them. Words can cut deep, and it can change who they become. Teach the children, enjoy what you do, when you stop enjoying it, please find something else to do.

“Look at the way I have been treated lately, especially by the media ... No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can’t let them get you down, you can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams.” President Donald Trump. I listened to these comments to the graduating class at the Coast Guard Academy. As usual, our narcissistic president has turned special occasions like this one into a pity-party about himself.

Louisiana is one of the states that did not issue a declaration justifying their secession from the federal union. But Mississippi did. “Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery-- the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun. These products have become necessities of the world, and a blow at slavery is a blow at commerce and civilization. That blow has been long aimed at the institution, and was at the point of reaching its consummation. There was no choice left us but submission to the mandates of abolition, or a dissolution of the Union, whose principles had been subverted to work out our ruin.” Confederate Civil War Monuments stand in tribute to those who fought to keep 4 million black slaves in the perpetual bonds of servitude. Take the monuments down.

“Trump’s Family Trips Cost Taxpayers Nearly As Much In A Month As Obama’s Cost In A Whole Year.” Lead story, Forbes Magazine 3/17

“Daddy Ball is the common phenomenon of when the coach - or the perception of when the coach - favors his kid over others at the detriment of the team. His kid always needs to be the star.” For the record, Coach Beatty’s son is a 10th-grader and Principal Hodges’ son does not play baseball at Doyle High School. As for the disgruntled parent whose son did not make the baseball team, you clearly did not attend any games this season. Several 8th-graders played on the varsity team and “YES” they were starters, while Coach Beatty’s son played on the junior varsity team. You should not be worried about Metro ball, because every kid gets to play and does not have to tryout.

My history and social studies education in a lower middle class high school provided more than adequate preparation to meet the challenges of higher level classes in college. On the other hand, politics is like religion ... the majority of us receive our impressions from our parents, not from some liberal tree hugging teacher that is the figment of someone’s imagination.

Looks like the new special counsel in the FBI-Russian investigation will have an effect on the Orange Orangutan’s incessant tweeting, but I wouldn’t bet on it!

There is no excuse for the filthy restrooms at Denham High. You have to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels to dry your hands. I don’t think they have mopped the floors since they returned to school after the flood. The faculty restrooms are kept better but the students are terrible. It was a pleasure to have these items when we were at Live Oak, they do a great job of cleaned. I have reported these to custodians. Maybe it’s time to replace with a professional firm that can keep the restrooms clean.

“If communism is the wave of the future, why do you still need walls to keep people in and armies of secret police to keep them quiet?”. Ronald Reagan.

Had enough of the smell around Walker. Enough is enough, the rotting egg smell of h2s gas this landfill is horrible but they say there is no off-site impact since they have cut the timber around there. You can clearly see dust flying in every direction, so tell me again how there is no off-site impact.

President Trump’s compadre to the Kremlin, Gen. Michael Flynn, spent the months before the presidential election leading the “Lock Her Up!” chant about Hillary Clinton. The good Gen. Flynn is now claiming his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination regarding his ties with the Russians. Claiming the 5th is something Hillary Clinton did not do! Someone needs to be locked up alright, and that would be the traitor, Gen. Michael Flynn.

Donald Trump committed the exact offense that forced Richard Nixon to resign.
