I’ll bet if Christians were coming here from different countries and attacking us we would have to slow them down by veting more. It’s what any nation with half a brain would do.
I sure hope Trump appoints a judge that will overturn Roe v. Wade. There’s been too many silent screams to think about.
Like the majority of Americans, prior to Obamacare, I purchased workplace insurance from various employers for many years. Each year I received a new provider list and notification of coverage changes. Like other Americans there were years when I lost my doctor, hospital, or other coverage. Some years the only changes were premium increases. Obamacare passage decreased my annual health insurance premium by 10 percent, while adding many other important protections. America needs a single payer healthcare plan like Medicare for everyone.
Regarding Livingston Parish Council on Aging: AARP donated a large sum of money to assist persons over 50, particularly the disabled flood victims, as stated in the monthly bulletin. I went there to see if I could get some help as I need interior doors, my gas furnace repaired or replaced, counter tops, one a/c unit and a lawnmower. I was told they were only helping those over 60. I hope somebody got some help.
Under federal law, a riot is a public disturbance involving an act of violence by one or more persons assembled in a group of at least three people. Inciting a riot applies to a person who organizes, encourages, or participates in a riot. It can apply to one who urges or instigates others to riot. Why isn’t GEORGE SOROS in jail.
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, the average annual private/workplace family health insurance premium increased by 13 percent between 2000 to 2006. That was the years when Republicans were in the White House. After Obamacare took full effect in 2014, the average annual private/workplace family health premiums increased by 3%. Ripping Obamacare to shreds sounded great to a lot of folks. Many, if not most, did not have an Obamacare policy! Well, now that Republicans are in charge they own it. Chances are Republicans will make the necessary changes to the ACA and move on because folks that have it, like it, and they vote.
Trump is only doing what should have been done decades ago. Had someone we probably would have never had 9/11/2001.
Mark Harrell stated that he would like for FEMA to offer flood victims the option of choosing either a trailer or $100,000 to help them rebuild their homes. I would like for Mr. Harrell to explain to me why I have needed to pay for flood insurance all of these years.
As a corporate business owner, I’m for lower taxes so that I can upgrade my equipment and hire more people. The only people who want me to pay more in taxes are the envious, the freeloaders, and some politicians which in my opinions are mostly the same.
This is in response to the statement, “Can you believe Trump is trying to cut funding for a woman to kill her baby!” I would like to point out that beginning in 1977, the Hyde Amendment dictated that federal Medicaid funds could only be used to fund abortions in cases of rape, incest or to protect the life of the mother. According to current national polling, only 19 percent of Americans believe that women should not have an abortion for any reason, the same percent of those polled back in 1972. The majority of American taxpayers agree with Row v. Wade, that a woman has a right to choose.
While we celebrate black history month I’m reminded it was the Republican Party who fought to end slavery.
This is in response to the comment that the amount of national debt racked up under President Obama will be one “of the many bad things he’ll be remembered for.” History has already judged Obama’s debt. The last 2 two-term Democratic presidents, Clinton and Obama, increased the national debt by 38 and 68 percent respectively. The last 2 two-term Republican presidents, Reagan and G.W. Bush, increased the national debt by 186 and 102 percent respectively! Actually, on Dec. 2, 2013, the WSJ commented, “The U.S. economy has performed better since World War II when the president is a Democrat rather than a Republican.” What other Obama’s “bad things” is the commenter referring to? Obviously it is not his tripling the stock market, creating 14 million jobs, cutting the deficit by 75 percent, increasing corporate profits by 185 percent, cutting their effective taxes to 80 year low, cut unemployment by half, or killing OBL. Change channels and get facts, not Fox fiction.
This letter is being written in the attempt to inform all those who look after the Council on Aging to be aware. The Livingston Council on Aging is in need of serious investigating. The director of the Livingston COA is not the one who will be able to answer any questions. She in no way should be part of the investigation team. She is need of being deeply investigated herself. The employees will not answer to her. A third party is needed to get to the bottom of all allegations. Please take heed to the many attempts .We are serious. We will not stop. Who thinks billionaire Betsy DeVos, Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Education, is going to support Livingston Parish’s excellent public school system? She did not attend public schools nor did she send her children to public schools. She and her family have supported the privatization of public schools by promoting vouchers for use by charter, for-profit and religious schools.
