Joseph Melvin Arabie, a native of Church Point and a resident of St. Francisville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at the age of 76. He was a 1958 graduate of Iota High School. He was manager of A&P Food Stores, Kroger, and Sunbeam Bakery. He was also the owner of Chad’s AG Food in Livingston. Joseph attended First Baptist Church in St. Francisville. Joseph was an avid fisherman who also had a passion for family and his time was best spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Doris Odom Arabie; daughters, Rhonda Love, Cynthia Stevens (Kary), Debra Sablatura (John), and Michelle Alexander; grandchildren, Chad Stevens, Eric Stevens, Taylor Bergeron, Morgan Bergeron, Clayton Alexander, Kyle Alexander, Cody Love, Ashley Love, Chris Love, Rusty Love, and Jacqueline Love; sisters, Geneva Bellard (Rodney) and Jeanette Young (Freddie); brother, Lee Arabie (Brenda); and brother-in-law, Robert Odom (Gail); and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zannie and Dula Arabie; son-in-law, Robert Alexander; brother, Thomas Arabie; and sister, Bertha Arabie. Visitation was at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 10, until funeral service. Interment followed on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers were grandsons - Cody Love, Chad Stevens, Eric Stevens, Taylor Bergeron, Clayton Alexander, Kyle Alexander. Condolences are welcome at www.greenoaksfunerals.com.
