Jack Ronald Bankston passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at the age of 81. He was a retired principal of the Livingston Parish School System.
Visitation was held at Hebron Baptist Church in Denham Springs on Thursday, May 4 from 5-7 p.m. and again on Friday, May 5 from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. The services were conducted by Rev. John Burnett, and burial was in the church cemetery.
Jack is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jacquelyn and David Manning and Ronette and John Burnett; two grandchildren, Jack and Meg Burnett; foster grandson, Scotty Lofton and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clement Bankston; his parents, Marion and Mittie Mitchell Bankston; granddaughter, Diana Manning; four sisters, Evelyn Bond, Norma Tate, Joyce Brashears and Helen Sanders; three brothers, Lee Bankston, Byron Tom Bankston and James Bankston.
Pallbearers were Chris Saizan, Alvie Bankston, Scotty Lofton, Doug Clement, Lionel Bankston, Jerry Gill, Jr. and Ralph Whittington.
Jack was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Denham Springs. He was a graduate of LSU and Southeastern Louisiana University and was the long-time president of Nickens Lake Hunting Club.
Church Funeral Services in Walker were in charge of arrangments.
