When the nonprofit food pantry Mighty Moms, in Denham Springs, goes shopping, it takes extra manpower to unload and sort the items. On Saturday, April 1, members of the Denham Springs Kiwanis Club and Live Oak High Key Club helped unload its purchases from Sam’s Club. Mighty Moms, which operates solely on donations, according to Director Dawn Birdsong, uses a lot of the food for its Tummy Project, bags distributed to schoolchildren on Friday who may not have anything to eat during the weekend.
