HAMMOND – Five Livingston Parish residents were among 20 suspects arrested when the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and three other law enforcement agencies carried out two search warrants in Tickfaw.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards said on Tuesday, April 11, his Street Crimes Unit, Narcotics Unit, Investigation Unit and K-9 Unit were joined by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Hammond Police Department and federal Drug Enforcement Administration to search two homes on Herman Johnson Lane.

“These two residences have plagued the community for over a decade and have been the subject of numerous narcotics and stolen property investigations,” Daniels said.

Individuals from Tangipahoa and Livingston parishes were visiting these locations to buy drugs and trade stolen property for drugs, he said.

While executing the warrants, people arrived with money, he said, admitting they were looking for crack cocaine, marijuana or methamphetamine.

At least two persons admitted to trading prescription medications, namely Suboxone, for crack cocaine.

The property owner, Leroy Clyde Johnson Sr., admitted to trading and purchasing items that he knew to be stolen, the sheriff said.

Detectives seized quantities of drugs believed to be marijuana, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and assorted prescription medications. Detectives also seized several cases of beer, bottles of liquor, firearms, and power tools that Johnson admitted accepting for drugs.

Officers located a stolen Warn 15,000-pound winch reported stolen from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Daniels said.

Johnson, 65, Herman Johnson Lane, Tickfaw, was charged with two counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, possession of firearm while in possession of drugs and possession of stolen property.

The following Livingston Parish residents were arrested:

Dedrick Jackson, 23, North Cafeline Road, Albany, two failure to appear warrants through the 21st Judicial District Court.

Sheila Methvin, 50, Music Lane, Springfield, possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Randy Penalber, 31, Barnum Road, Springfield, possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Casey Perkins, 29, Elm Street, Springfield, possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dennis Trapp, 56, Joelene Street, Albany, possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jennifer Lynn Thompson, 33, Durbin Road, Tickfaw, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and two outstanding warrants.

Antonio Richardson, 33, Durbin Road, Tickfaw, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs and an outstanding warrant.

Raelonn Maryland, 25, Old Baton Rouge Highway, Hammond, was charged with two outstanding warrants related to simple battery and aggravated battery.

Andrew Harris, 20, U.S. 40 West, Independence, was charged with possession of Schedule I drugs.

Edwin Breeland Jr., 66, Eight Street Drive, Ponchatoula, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christopher McGee, 28, Durbin Road Extension, Tickfaw, was charged with possession of Schedule I drugs and an outstanding warrant.

Melissa Lee, 48, Rufus Bankston Road, Hammond, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and three outstanding warrants.

Dedric Johnson, 42, Herman Johnson Lane, Tickfaw, was charged with Schedule I possession of a legend drug and an outstanding warrant.

Dedrick Phelps, 38, Durbin Road Extension, Tickfaw, was charged with possession of Schedule I drugs and three outstanding warrants.

Christopher Sykes, 18, Rosewood Drive, Hammond, was charged with possession of Schedule I drugs.

Kerrie Schexnaider, 50, North Cafeline Road, Tickfaw, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alvin Patrick, 51, Illinois Jones Road, Hammond, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheila Malbrough, 23, Wilbert Dangerfield, Hammond, was charged with possession of Schedule I drugs.

Jeff Clayton McKinney, 32, North Baptist Road, Hammond, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm while in possession of controlled dangerous substance and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. A detainer was placed on McKinney by Louisiana State Probation and Parole due to him being on probation.
