DENHAM SPRINGS -- The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday that 21 high school seniors will be the recipients of its 2017 scholarship awards.

Scholarships of $500 will be awarded, made possible through contributions from member businesses, according to a news release.

Winners of the Academic Scholarships are Jasmine Hendry, Albany High; Austin Barnes, Grace Dugas, Krysta Mostert and Rachel Caroline Taylor, all of Denham Springs High; and Emily Beever, Haleigh Jones and Kaitlyn Rayborn, Doyle High.

Also, Eric Forbes, Jessica Litolff and Nathan Penalber, Holden High; Jack Dalberg, Live Oak High; Reeves Blankenship and Shelby Chandler, Springfield High; and Evan Bergeron, Cameron Hood and Katelyn Prescott, Walker High.

The Alice Sibley Award winners are Thomas Fuentes, Denham Springs High; Gabrielle Chanier, Live Oak High; and Samantha Hebert, Walker High. 

The Ability Beyond Award winner is Macy Dufrene, of Holden High School.

On Wednesday, April 12, the Chamber will hold its State of Education Breakfast to recognize the scholarship recipients and sponsors.

Guest speaker will be Livingston Parish Superintendent Rick Wentzel.

The program begins with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the Livingston Parish Public School Facility in Livingston.
