DENHAM SPRINGS – Two lanes of Interstate 12 west will be closed at night on Thursday and Friday, April 6-7, according to the state Department of Transportation & Development.

From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the westbound center and left lanes between Range Road going west to the Amite River Bridge will be closed, said Bryan Fontenot, maintenance specialist with the District 62 office in Hammond.

This lane closure is necessary to allow crews to perform road repairs, Fontenot said.

Motorists may take Florida Boulevard (U.S. 190) westbound to O’Neal Lane as an alternative route to return to Interstate 12, he said.

“DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and equipment,” Fontenot said.
