Two state Department of Transportation & Development projects in Livingston Parish will close sections of Interstate 12 and Juban Road near the interstate.
The I-12 eastbound inside lane from Walker South (La. 447) to Pumpkin Center (La. 1249) will be closed from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, for general maintenance, said Scott Küpper, RSD district coordinator with the District 62 office in Hammond.
The I-12 westbound inside lane from Pumpkin Center Road to Walker South Road then will be closed from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. for general maintenance, Küpper said.
One interstate lane will be open at all times, he said. There will be no restrictions on oversized loads at this time.
Motorist may take U.S. 190 as an alternate route to avoid possible 5- to 10-minute delays, Küpper said.
Meanwhile, another DOTD project will close Juban Road’s outside travel lane north of I-12, said Kris Wascom, DOTD project engineer.
The lane will be closed from I-12 to Cassle Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 24, through Friday, April 28, Wascom said.
One lane will remain open at all times, he said.
This lane closure is necessary to allow crews to remove sections of the existing shoulder to prepare for new turning lanes and other access points for commercial development, Wascom said.
Motorists may use I-12 to La. 447 to U.S. 190 as an alternate route.
