DENHAM SPRINGS – A Denham Springs man was arrested March 31 on child pornography charges, according to the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.

John Salpietra, 24, was arrested on two counts of distribution of sexual abuse images and/or videos of children, the Attorney General’s Office said in a news release.

He was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Bond was set at $100,000, according to Detention Center records.

The arrest came as a result of a joint investigation between multiple law enforcement agencies, the attorney general’s news release said.

“I have an unwavering commitment to protect our children from sexual exploitation,” Attorney General Jeff Landry said in the release. “My office will continue to use all the resources possible to bring child predators to justice.”

To report suspected child exploitation cases, call the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation at (800) 256-4506.
