We are the Ya Yas: a group of friends that are fearless, strong, loyal, inspirational, and beautiful that escape life’s everyday dramas that wear on the soul and replace experiences with clarity, joy, fun, and adventure!

We range in age from mid-40s to mid-80s, and we even involve our grandchildren and husbands. We are a line dance group that was born in a gym in Denham Springs with an instructor with a heart of gold. We have themed dances, and we take our costumed selves to nursing homes and assisted living facilities to spread joy. We bring beads, baby dolls, and stuffed animals to the residents.

On Jan. 26, 2017, we entertained at The Livingston Activity Center for the Developmentally Disabled. What a blessing for us! We brought beads, boas, and masks, and the joy on their faces was huge! We have a dance along at the end with the clients and they had a great time.
