METAIRIE – A Livingston Parish student was among 12 from across south Louisiana to receive a Peter C. Bertucci Scholarship through Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union.

Grace Dugas, of Denham Springs High School, received a $1,000 scholarship. The award was based upon a student’s grade-point average, school and community involvement and an essay “What is the biggest financial issue high school students face today? What is one way Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union could help students combat this issue?”

Each winner’s high school and sponsoring educator received $300 and $100, respectively.

“This year’s recipients exemplify smart, well-rounded students who are poised for success in their academic and professional careers,” said Mark Rose, chief executive officer of Jefferson Financial.

“The Peter C. Bertucci Scholarship Program is an excellent avenue for us to give back to our community while rewarding these 12 bright students for their hard work and determination throughout their high school years.”

Other scholarship recipients were: Payton Ramsey, St. Scholastica; Lily Coxe, Baton Rouge Magnet; Victoria Ostrowski, Destrehan High; Sarah Boudloche, Ursuline Academy; Toriann Ealem, John Ehret High; Aidan Garrity, Thomas Jefferson High; Steve Marquez, De La Salle High; Victoria Shields, Archbishop Chapelle; Robert Wahl, Haynes Academy; and Jeffery Ganucheau and Joseph Martin, both of St. Martin’s High.
