A total of 24 high school seniors returned on Thursday, May 11, to where their education began: Lewis Vincent Elementary, for the annual senior parade.

Each year, graduating seniors who began at the elementary are invited back and current Lewis Vincent students make signs, shake hands and cheer for them.

Of the 24 who walked the halls in their caps and gowns were 23 who graduated Sunday, May 14, from Denham Springs High and one who will graduate from University High. Principal Lynette Wheat said this was the largest group of Lewis Vincent alumni to return.

At a reception after their parade, Wheat offered them something special: Extra copies of the yearbook from the years they attended Lewis Vincent were located and available to the students if they had lost their copies in August’s flooding.
